Biography

TIAN, Xuechen graduated from the University of Liverpool with a master degree in Molecular Bioscience. He currently works at Wenzhou-Kean University (WKU) as a laboratory manager and assistant experimentalist. Meanwhile he holds positions at International Pangolin Research Consortium, International Pangolin Scientific Advisory Board and he is also a member of China Pangolin Research Center, The Chinese Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (CSBMB) and Chinese Society for Cell Biology (CSCB).

He is a founder of biological laboratory of Wenzhou-Kean University, has established the first experimental teaching demonstration center of WKU. He excels in cell culture, ELISA, WB, PCR, FCM, RNA-seq and molecular recombinant technique. Moreover, he is familiar with statistical analysis of biological data and research methods related with Molecular biology, Cell biology, Protein chemistry, Genomics, Tanscriptomics and Proteomics.

He has once presided over a project of teaching demonstration center and the Public Welfare Research Program held by Wenzhou Education Bureau and the Communist Youth League of Wenzhou, respectively. He also actively participated in projects supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China(NSFC), Zhejiang Province Natural Science Foundation and Wenzhou Science and Technology project. Besides, he has carried out four other projects with two are WKU research projects and National program of Innovation and entrepreneurship for the rest. Meanwhile, he has published several academic papers in international famous journals such as Conservation Letters, Frontiers Microbiology, Horticulture Research and Computational and Structural Biotechnology Journal. Xuechen has been elected as Excellent Staff for several times on account of all the excellent work he has done.

Research interests

Tian’s research focuses on the combination field of wet-lab and bioinformatics technique. Main research fields: 1) Development of novel recombinant technology of human interferon-epsilon (IFN-ɛ), including structure prediction and biological activity determination; 2) Exploring the effect and underlying mechanism of human interferon combination against tumor based on wet-lab and transcriptomic techniques; 3) Whole genome and metagenomic analysis of specific microorganisms such as marine actinomycetes and probiotics.
