Biography

I am a chemist scientist working as an assistant professor in the Department of Chemistry at Wenzhou-Kean University.  I have eight years of teaching experience in different universities in Malaysia and Turkey.  Over my teaching experience, I taught various courses such as nanomaterials, inorganic chemistry, general chemistry, micro and nanotechnology, biomaterials, and bioactive inorganic materials. Besides the teaching experience, I supervised seven M.Sc. students to a successful conclusion and published 38 articles indexed in SCI. During my Ph.D. (2011-2015), I had the opportunity to work under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Rafaqat Hussain on the synthesis and characterization of nanoparticles for biomedical applications.  After graduation, I joined Prof. Dr. Zafer Evis’s lab as a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Engineering Sciences at Middle East Technical University (2015-2016).  As a postdoc researcher, I gained in-depth knowledge of the synthesis of nanoparticles, ionic doping of inorganic materials, and the effect of doping on their physicochemical, optical, and biological properties.  Then, I joined Karabuk University (2016–2022) as an assistant professor in the biomedical engineering department.

Research interests

Preparing and characterizing nano/micro-structured bioactive inorganic materials and evaluating their uses in the biomedical field.
