Dr. Changjiang Zhang received his BS and MS in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Donghua University, Shanghai, in 1983 and 1986 respectively, and his PhD in Computer Science from the University of Kentucky, USA in 2011.

His first job is a teaching position at Dong Hua University. He had worked as a teaching assistant and lecturer for 6 years (from Jan. 1986-Dec. 1992). He joined the IT industry in 1993 and worked for several companies in Shenzhen, such as Shenzhen MINDRAY Medical International Co., Ltd., Huawei Technologies, etc. He had also worked for seven years as a senior software developer, and lead developer in the financial sector in Chicago, USA for two trading companies. He has 15+ years of experience in the IT industry in China and the USA.

He continued his teaching career when he joined Wenzhou-Kean University in Aug. 2014. As an assistant professor in Computer Science, he worked for WKU for five and half years, providing quality teaching for students and conducting research activities with students. He instructed many courses at WKU, such as CPS 1032 (Microcomputer Applications), CPS 1231 (Fundamentals of Computer Science, Java I), CPS 2390 (Computer Organization & Architecture), CPS 3740 (Database Management Systems), CPS 3962 (Object Oriented Analysis & Design), CPS 4150 (Computer Architecture and System Programming), CPS 4410 (System Modeling and Simulation), CPS 3440 (Analysis of Algorithms), CPS 3250 (Operating System Concepts), and TECH 3525(Introduction to Unix and Linux).

In Feb. 2020, he joined UIC (BNU-HK BU United International College), as an assistant professor in the data science department. He had worked for UIC for four and a half years. He instructed several courses at UIC, such as DS2003(Fundamentals of Database Systems), COMP3013 (Database Systems), DS 2013/2043(Data Processing Workshop I – Python and libraries), DS 3003/3043 (Data Processing Workshop II-Big data analysis), DS3013 (Data Processing Workshop III- Statistical Modeling and Machine Learning), FYP (Final Year Project), COMP 3033 (Operating Systems), DS 2033(Linux System Management and Programming), DS1013 (Python for Beginners), GCAP13 (Comprehensive Practical Training on Big Data and AI).

Since Aug. 2024, Dr. Zhang has rejoined WKU as a lecturer in the Computer Science Department. Currently, he is teaching two courses: CPS 3440 (Analysis of Algorithms) and CPS 1231 (Fundamentals of Computer Science, Java I) for students.
