Biography

Abdur Rashid Sangi served as Assistant Manager, I.T. in the public sector R&D, Karachi, Sindh before PhD. He was awarded with full‐scholarship and finished his PhD in Communications & Information Systems from Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (Beihang), China. Later he served as Software Engineer/Product Manager in Hisense International Co. Ltd, Qingdao, China and was a Senior Engineer in the Huawei R&D center, Beijing, China until August, 2017, where he was awarded with ‘Rising Star’ award for his contributions. He actively contributed to the global expansion of Hisense to provide Mobile Systems to renowned telecom operators like SFR, France; Smartfren, Indonesia; Zong, Pakistan to name a few. He represented Huawei in IETF ‘International Engineering Task Force’ for two years to collaborate with global companies in devising technology standardization especially for IoT (Internet of Things) networks.

Afterwards he joined academics by serving HYIT, Jiangsu and Yibin University, Sichuan. Currently he is with College of Science and Technology Wenzhou Kean University.

Research interests

Research interests include IoT security, Contiki simulations, 6LoWPAN and Routing protocol optimization and design. Recently, working on lightweight implementations of Machine Learning algorithms and Federated Learning solutions for IoT networks.
