Biography
Lifei Zheng studied chemistry at Nanjing University (China). From 2010 to 2015 he pursued his graduate studies under the supervision of Prof. Andreas Herrmann at the Zernike Institute for Advanced Materials at the University of Groningen, The Netherlands. Then he moved to Radboud University as a postdoctoral researcher with Prof. Wilhelm Huck. Since 2018 Dr. Zheng is a project leader of the DWI Leibniz-Institute for Interactive Materials. Dr. Zheng has been working in the field of bio-inspired chemistry which is aiming to fabricate novel molecular architectures and systems by learning from nature’s elegance. His research work at this interface resulted in new biohybrid structures, novel catalytic strategies and integration of nature’s principle in artificial nanosystems, which are documented by several high-quality publications in leading chemistry journals, such as Nat. Chem., JACS and Angew. Chemie. He was awarded several prizes including Chinese Government Award for Outstanding Students Abroad (2014) and Lebniz leopdina fellow (2019).
