Biography

Zan graduated from Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry Chinese Academy of Science with PhD in Polymer chemistry and Physics. Since then, he was trained in the University of South Carolina and Institute of Georgia Technology, aiming to modulation the differentiation and orientation of cells in tissue engineering and the design of novel drug delivery system. In 2014, he was awarded the “Advanced Researcher of Alexander von Humboldt Scholarship” funded by the Humboldt Foundation of Germany. In 2015, he won the “Abroad Talents Programs of Wenzhou”. Zan is currently a full research professor at Wenzhou Institute, University of Chinese Academy of Science. He is committed to the development of medical functional materials with disease treatment and tissue regeneration or repair functions. He has received grants nearly RMB 7 million and published more than 40 peer-reviewed academic papers as the first or corresponding authors. And He has applied for 11 invention patents.

Research Interests

Zan has been engaged in the research of development of medical functional materials. Main research fields: (1) Design intracellular and in vivo delivery systems for biologically active molecules. (2) The influence of the physiochemical properties of the drug carrier in the delivery process. (3) The control of stem cell differentiation and the development of multifunctional implant coatings.
