Faculty in the College of Science, Mathematics and Technology are highly competent classroom instructors, and accomplished scientists who have made significant contributions to their respective fields. They are recruited from world-renowned universities and research institutions such as University of Cambridge, King’s College London, University College London, University of California, Berkeley, Columbia University, University of Washington, Northwestern University, University of Pennsylvania, Purdue University, New Jersey Institute of Technology, Rutgers University, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, North Carolina State University, University of Kansas, University of Copenhagen, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Zhejiang University, Fudan University, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee, King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), and Centre national de la recherche scientifique (CNRS). Faculty in the college have received prestigious awards such as Changjiang (Yangtze River) Scholar award (长江学者奖励计划), the Zhejiang Province Program of Global Experts award (formerly the Thousand Talents Program) (省级引才计划), and the Zhejiang Province High-level Top Talent Award (高层次拔尖人才). The research programs of faculty in the college are supported by grants from the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and the Zhejiang provincial Natural Science Foundation. In 2022 alone, faculty in the college have published 111 articles in SCI and SSCI listed journals translating to an average of 3.5 publications per faculty. Notably, the field-weighted citation impact (FWCI) of articles published by faculty in the college is 2.75 which means that they are cited 275% more frequently than the global average in their respective fields.
