Workshop for Data Science & Mathematical Modeling Contests
Dear WKU Students,
In collaboration with the Departments of Mathematical Sciences and Computer Science, we are excited to announce that we will be organizing training and workshops specifically tailored for Data Science and Mathematical Modeling Contests. These events are designed to cater to students from both departments as well as the rest of the university.
Our hope is that this joint initiative will foster collaboration among students from various disciplines, allowing you to form teams and participate in renowned contests such as China Undergraduate Mathematical Contest in Modeling (CUMCM) 全国大学生数学建模竞赛, The Mathematical Contest in Modeling (MCM), Interdisciplinary Contest in Modeling (ICM), International Mathematical Competition for University Students (IMC), and Kaggle Competitions.
Participating in these contests will not only provide you with invaluable experience but also enhance your CV for future academic or career pursuits.
As a starting point, we have decided to host an introductory workshop on October 22nd, from 2:35 PM to 3:35 PM, in CSMT 126, focusing on the upcoming Mathematical Contest in Modeling (MCM/ICM) and Kaggle data science contests.
During this initial workshop, Dr. Qing Xia from the Department of Mathematical Sciences and Dr. John Zhang from Department of Computer Science will provide you with valuable information about these two prestigious contests. They will also outline other contests that you can look forward to in the coming years.
Please seize this opportunity and join us for the workshop to discover how these competitions can enhance your learning and unlock new opportunities for you.
Looking forward to seeing many of you there on the day!
