Biography

Dr. Waqar Ali is an Associate Professor with over two decades of experience in teaching, training, and educational administration across various roles, including Researcher, Head of Department, Associate/Assistant Professor, and Lecturer. He earned his MS in Computer Science from the University of Central Punjab, Pakistan, in 2011 and completed his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China in 2021, where he focused on integrating real-world contexts in recommender systems. He subsequently pursued a Post-Doctoral Fellowship at the same institution, working on reliable recommendation services using machine intelligence for the production industry. Dr. Ali has taught a variety of courses to undergraduate, master's, and Ph.D. students and has published research in top-tier international conferences and journals. His academic career includes affiliations with The University of Lahore, The Royal College, Imperial College of Business Studies, Pak-Australian Institute, The Superior University (Pakistan), and the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, where he has been recognized for outstanding academic and administrative contributions. His research interests include recommender systems, privacy protection, responsible AI for information retrieval, federated learning, data analytics, and blockchain technology.
